We offer a full range of repair services for all band instrument.  Here are a few examples of the repair services we offer.

Brass piston instrument service includes:
The instrument is disassembled and inspected.  The instrument is ultrasonically cleaned in our 90 gallon tank (which can handle up to 6/4 tubas).  We then scratch brush all slides, casings and pistons.  All valve and water key springs are replaced with orignal manufacture parts.  Water key corks are replaced.  We then install synthetic washers on the pistons and top caps to align ports for proper air flow.  Instrument is lubricated with "Selmer" and "Hetman" lubrication products.  The mouthpiece is cleaned and re-trued.  We play test every instrument before it is sent out.

Saxophone "Complete Mechanical Restoration" includes:
The instrument is disassebled and inspected.  The instrument is ultrasonically cleaned.  All tone holes and key cups are straightened and leveled.  Loose fitting keys are swedged for proper fit.   All pads, key corks, bumpers, silencers and neck corks are replaced.  After seating the pads, the regulation is adjusted for easy play.  All spring tension is adjusted for balance of keys.  Key height is set for proper response and tuning.  The neck tenon is refitted to the socket to remove any neck leaks.  Instrument is lubricated and play tested.

Coles Music Service is available by appointment only. This allows us to schedule time with you to discuss your repair options without interruption. It also allows us to get your instrument back to you in a timely manner.

CMS offers ultrasonic cleaning of instruments. This is a relatively new process that cleans instruments better in an environmentally safer way. We feature a 90 gallon tank that can clean any size instrument. Ultrasonic cleaners are being used by manufacturers of band instruments for cleaning before lacquering and plating work.

CMS has almost every tool and machine used in today’s modern repair facility. We have many new and used parts in stock to repair most instruments. For those instruments in which parts are not available, we have the ability and sources to manufacture almost any part. All repairs are done on premises with the exception of lacquering and plating.

Before & After

Conn 40B Vocabell Trumpet Overhaul on a Conn 40B vocabell with satin silver and gold plating. All dents were removed, mouthpipe was straightened, ultrasonically cleaned, and plated. Finally, valves were aligned and horn lubricated with Hetmen and Selmer oils.
